A research group in the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning which provides an intellectual space for conducting interdisciplinary research that considers the role of power & institutions in ordering social & economic life. We draw from a range of disciplines including political economy, sociology, law & science & technology studies to understand the impact of policy & planning interventions on social & economic outcomes.

The Political Economy Lab is directed by Jason Jackson, Associate Professor of Political Economy at MIT, and is comprised of a vibrant interdisciplinary group of researcher partners.
